Do you feel the heat? The Boston Red Sox offense is getting hot. In a massive way. The team collected 20 hits, including 10 extra-base ones. On the back of this, the Red Sox defeated the inferior Sox 15-2. With the win, Boston moves to 16-18. They have won seven of their past ten contests.

You see the double-digit run total for the Red Sox and it’s pretty obvious that rookie phenom Michael Chavis had something to do with it. Ice Horse went 4-6 with two homeruns (6), which marks his first career multi-homer game. His OPS sits at a scorching 1.237.

Andrew Benintendi, Steve Pearce, Rafael Devers and Christian Vazquez also had multi-hit games. In fact, the latter (Vaz) managed to match Chavis’ hit total, smacking four singles. It’s worth noting than Xander Bogaerts (5) and Eduardo Nunez (1) also knocked a homerun out of the park.

Boston batted around in the top of the third, as everybody in the lineup got a hit in the inning. Again, it was quite the banner day for the offense.

Even though the bats stole the show, Eduardo Rodriguez pitched another fine game. The southpaw went six innings of one earned run baseball with six strikeouts and two walks.

The Red Sox will go for the series win Sunday at 2:10 p.m. eastern time. Rick Porcello, fresh off his best start in 2019, will oppose Dylan Covey.
