According to MLB.com’s Ian Browne, Eduardo Rodriguez will be activated off the 10-Day DL and start Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The left-handed pitcher has been recovering from knee surgery, but after a successful extended Spring Training start has been deemed ready to go.
In 137 and 1/3 innings last year, Rodriguez pitched to the tune of a 4.19 ERA, accompanied by a 3.97 FIP.
Presumably, Chris Sale, who was scheduled to start the game, will be pushed to Tuesday’s game against the New York Yankees.
Additionally, someone will have to be displaced on the 25-man roster to accommodate E-Rod’s return. It is likely going to be either Marcus Walden and Hector Velazquez.
