According to Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham, left-hander Drew Pomeranz has been activated off the 10-day DL and will make his first start of the 2018 season tonight.

Pomeranz injured his left forearm in Spring Training and, after making two rehab starts, will pitch the first of a three-game set against the Oakland Athletics. The game will start at 10:07 p.m. eastern time.

To make room for the 29-year-old on the 25-man roster, Boston optioned right-handed pitcher Marcus Walden to Pawtucket.

In 173 and 2/3 innings with the Red Sox last year, Pomeranz pitched to the tune of a 3.32 ERA and 3.84 FIP.
