Andrew Benintendi and Christian Vazquez hit home runs against Houston Saturday night that gave David Price his sixth win of the season. While they have one more game to play in the series, their victory helped the Red Sox avoid a sweep by the 2017 World Series defending champions. It was Benintendi’s eighth homer of the season, and Vazquez’s first.
David Price went six innings giving up five hits and three earned runs while striking out seven. Craig Kimbrel picked up his 19th save of the season.
The Boston Red Sox play the Houston Astros in the final game of the four-game series tonight at 7:30. Rick Porcello (7-2) takes the mound against Charlie Morton (7-0).
