Red Sox Top Angels as Mookie Betts crushes the first pitch he sees while J.D. Martinez hit his 24th homer.

David Price went six innings giving up five hits including a solo home run to the Los Angeles Angels’ Chris Young in the 3rd inning. Price improved to 9-5 for the season for an ERA of 3.66.
Mookie Betts hit the first pitch he saw from the Angels’ John Lamb for his 20th home run of the season. J.D. Martinez collected his league-leading 24th home run of the season. Christian Vazquez and Jackie Bradley Jr. also hit solo homers tonight. Martinez has hit .423 in the last seven days alone.
The Angels’ John Lamb lasted only 1.2 innings before he was relieved. By that point though the damage had been done. He gave up six hits, five runs, and three earned runs while striking out two. Lamb is now 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA for the season.
The Red Sox take on the Los Angeles Angels again Wednesday night at Fenway Park. The Sox Rick Porcello (9-3) will face Andrew Heaney (4-5) at 7:10 EST.
