Red Sox place Mookie Betts on the disabled list with an abdominal strain

The Boston Red Sox placed Mookie Betts on the 10-day disabled list with a left abdominal strain right before Friday’s game against the Houston Astros. Betts had not played for five consecutive games before the news broke and was noticeably absent in Friday’s lineup.
According to NBC Sports’ Evan Drellich, Betts’ disabled list trip will be retroactive to May 29th and he will be eligible to return to the team Friday June 8th.
There has not been a corresponding move to this point, although Sam Travis has been rumored to be the guy called up. The move will be announced tomorrow, whether it is Travis or someone else.
