Drew Pomeranz gives up four earned runs in five innings as Red Sox fall to Rays 4-3.

The Boston Red So fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 after southpaw Drew Pomeranz (0-1) gave up four runs in five innings of work. Overall, he gave up six hits, including three home runs while striking out four. It marked the Rays’ seventh straight victory. The Red Sox attempted rallies in the 6th and 8th innings, but fell short one run for the loss.
Wilson Ramos, Daniel Robertson, and Rob Refsnyder all homered for Tampa Bay as their pitcher Blake Snell struck out nine through eight innings. The Boston Red Sox still have the best record in baseball with a 19-6 record, 3.5 games ahead of the second place New York Yankees.
The Boston Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday at 4:05pm at Fenway Park. David Price (2-2) will take the mound against the Rays’ Yonny Chirinos (0-1). It will be the second of a three-game series between the teams.
